Barfly’s owner opening pizza restaurant in former House Pizzeria

Barfly’s co-owner Marcos Canchola is teaming with two longtime Barfly’s employees, Lucas Navarro ad Albert Varela, to open Turntable Eatery at 5111 Airport Blvd. in the former home of House Pizzeria.

The restaurant will serve Neapolitan pizzas, along with beer and wine, and feature a jukebox that spins 45s. Turntable will serve lunch and dinner, and Canchola hopes to have the restaurant open by April. This spring will see a pizza resurgence in the area, as it will soon be home to East Side Pies, Turntable Eatery and the new Home Slice Pizza

Canchola, who opened Barfly’s in 2001 and is also co-owner of the Hideout Pub, Pour House Pub, MugShots Bar, Violet Crown Social Club, Bender Bar and Grill and Pour House Pints and Pies, has even more news on the horizon. He plans to open Hitmaker Brewing in the old Thirsty Planet location at 11160 Circle Drive later this year.
